The team at Flying Fish are extremely proud and excited to have our Winemaker,

Ryan Aggiss selected as a finalist for the Wine Society 2009 Young Winemaker of the Year awards.

Colleagues of Flying Fish nominated Ryan for this award, open to all Winemakers in
Australia and New Zealand under 30 years of age. Wines produced under Ryan's hand were also submitted, these being the Flying Fish 2008 Cabernet Merlot and 2008 Chardonnay. These wines were then tasted by a panel of expert judges to arrive at the list of ten finalists.

We are certainly very pleased for Ryan as an invaluable member to Flying Fish winery, to have come so far and we look forward to the results being announced in Sydney on Friday 20th November.

"Ryan has been an exceptional contributor since joining the ‘Fish'. He has a great attitude and very good work ethic. His talents as a Winemaker have certainly been enhanced making wine alongside Damon Eastaugh and more recently Simon Ding. Flying Fish Cove has won significant accolades over the last few years, and I know that Ryan certainly is passionate about continuing that trend.

I am very proud to have Ryan a part of the Flying Fish Team and know that he will be a very successful old winemaker as well. The 2008 Shiraz just won a Gold Medal at the Perth Royal released today." – Brett House, Managing Director, recent media quote.
