I was born on Kangaroo Island and lived there for my childhood. I went back again a couple of years ago and visited a few wineries. I bought a fair bit of wine and have kept most of it to age. I had a bottle of 2001 Bay of Shoals Cab Sauv the other night and wow !!! It still had a few years ahead of it to go. It was fruity still, yet tight and restrained with dusty, leathery and brooding stewed fruits. Lots of spice and really quite amazing.
