Silver medal 2012 McLaren vale Wine Show
This 2006 McLaren Vale Shiraz is the inaugural release of the Rusty Mutt. Our Winemaker, Scott Heidrich with 20 years Winemaking experience, has carefully selected grapes from premium vineyards in the Southern area of McLaren Vale (near Willunga). The ferment was hand plunged and basket pressed in order to release its full aroma and flavour potential. After ferment, the wine was matured in large, used oak barrels for 18 months to maximise the fruit intensity while providing the subtle complexities that natural barrel ageing brings to a wine. It was racked and bottled (unfiltered) with a screw cap closure to preserve the intensity and freshness of this exciting wine.
