Murdoch James Estate is named in memory of Murdoch James Fraser. The third generation is now involved in the winery, through grandson Carl Fraser as one of the winemakers.
The Saleyards Block is where the Frasers first planted Syrah in 1986, and the name of this wine reflects those origins. While now made from grapes from a variety of selected sites, which give added complexity to the wine, we still seek to maintain the character and intensity of the early vintages.
Look for pepper and spice, partnered with a long, lingering finish.
