Company Information
Company Name:
Heathcote Winegrowers Association Inc.
About Us:
The Heathcote Winegrowers Association Inc. represents the interests of grape growers and wine producers in the registered GI of Heathcote in Victoria. Its primary activity is to build and nurture Brand Heathcote; promoting the qualities of Heathcote wines and to the wider market.
What We Do:
The Heathcote region, situated pretty much in the geographic centre of Victoria, between the Goulburn Valley and Bendigo regions, is famous as a premium shiraz producing area. The region is acknowledged as one of Australia’s wine icons.

Although Heathcote is regarded as the equal of any other red wine region in Australia, the scarcity of its wines means it is somewhat under-represented in the market place. Its wines are perceived as exclusive, not only because of their high quality, but because of their scarcity

Grape Varieties: Shiraz is clearly the predominant variety however other 'Rhone' varieties are increasingly planted - Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne and Petit Verdot. More recently other varieties such as Sangiovese, Nebiolo and Tempranillo are being planted and showing great promise.
