Welcome to the Red Wine Lovers Group!

I'm looking for a couple of group leaders to take over this group once we get it up and running, so if you would like to help organize things, please let me know.

in the topic Sat Oct 3 2009 King Valley Vignerons - Shed Wine Show in the forum Wine Country Holidays in Victoria

    The ad - from www.visitwangaratta.com.au:

On October 3, you can come and experience the King Valley's 'Shed Wine Show' where you be the judge of over 100 wines from 23 wineries. This unique event is alot of fun where you can meet the winemakers and grape growers, enjoy gourmet master classes and food tastings, live music and entertainment. The Show is on from 11am until 4.30pm with an after-show party from 5.30pm onwards.

I went to this 2 years ago and the event was awesome - $10 gets you a commemorative wine glass, judging sheets and a few pointers on how to go about the judging business. They ask if you can't try them all to at least try to complete entire categories, there were approx 20 wines in the shiraz category alone, but only 3 in the Rose (one lady had been very thorough with the rose - she judged it for about 4 hours straight). At the after show party they present awards to the wine makers based on your judging and the "judge" that picks the most winners wins a prize too.

Absolutely awesome event - well worth the visit!
