  • About Us
    Judy & Glen Kelly
An artistic marketer met a Clare Valley vineyard owner, and ArtWine was born.
With previous careers in global banking and marketing and subsequently running our own businesses, we have combined our strengths to create the ArtWine brand and pour our passion into creating alternative varieties from our Estate grown fruit and to providing stylish vineyard accommodation in the Clare Valley.
With two stunning vineyards in the Clare Valley and now with a third in the Adelaide Hills where we will be opening a Cellar Door late 2012.
  • Our Area
The Clare Valley is best described by James Halliday "The Clare Valley occupies the same special place in my heart as does Tuscany: if I were to live elsewhere in Australia, I would wish it to be in the Clare; elsewhere in the world, Tuscany. They share the same softness, the same intimacy, the same palpable sense of history, the same lack of twentieth-century pressure. Tuscany has these characteristics in greater abundance, no doubt, but that in no way diminishes the particular appeal of the Clare Valley".
Well said James!! - we agree. Plus the Spanish and Italian alternative varieties for Australia are perfectly suited to the Mediterranean climate of the Clare Valley, think Pinot Grigio, Tempranillo, Graciano, Grenache and Fiano.
  • Our Winemaker
All of our wines are made by Joanne, Irvine who is loving the challenge of creating for us these beautiful European varieties that suit the Australia climate so well.
Joanne has been making wine for over 15 years and was awarded the UK's International Wine Challenge in 2006. Her skills were also recognised in being awarded the Barossa Valley winemaker of the year in 2009. A major achievement indeed and she's a great person as well and a delight to work with, we love her!
  • Grape Varieties
In the Clare Valley we grow alternatives alongside the classic Australian varieties of Shiraz, Cabernet & Riesling. However the wines we focus on are Tempranillo, Graciano, Fiano, Pinot Gris, Viognier, Cab Franc and wonderful 80 year old bush vine Grenache. In our relatively new cooler climate Adelaide Hills vineyard we grow Merlot & Pinot Noir with plans for more cooler climate European alternatives to be planted in the next couple of years.
