About Us
Taking its name from the river that runs alongside the property, Bass River vineyard is located in the Gippsland region of southern Victoria. Owned and operated by the Butera family. Bass River produces a limited volume of premium wines. The Butera family has a long tradition in wine making, at least four generations to date.
Bass River is located on route to Phillip Island.
Our Area
Our philosophy is simple, the vineyard is managed by owner Pasquale (Pat) Butera. Pat's experience with vines commenced as a boy in Southern Italy, his knowledge to nurture vines results in yeilds suited to wine type and style.
Our Winemaker
Wine making is handled by father and son team Pasquale and Frank Butera. As winemakers and owners of the estate we are able to have total control of the winemaking process, from growing fruit to bottling the wine.
