About Us
Cardinham Estate is family owned , based in the clare valley. we have prided ourselves over the last 30 years in growing great quality fruit and also providing our customer great value for money wines
Three generations are still working at the estate , with Fred enjoying his 90 th birthday last november you can come and share his experiences at cellar door monday to friday except on wednessday when he is off playing bowls.
noel is still working in the vineyards and on most occasions you can enjoy his tails and a private tour of the cellars and unique tasting experience
scott is incharge of everything else and loves to share the family passion of giving everyone who comes to cardinham a experience that has people wanting to come back.
Our Area
situated at the northern end of the clare valley , we have some great riesling vineyards which have helped to provide the minerality that makes clare rieslings famous.
other varieties we specialize in are cabernet and sangiovese, and of couse those silky shiraz's
Our Winemaker
the wine making team is lead by brett stevens and scott smith , and they utilize the experiences of other winemakers throughout the valley .
this has resulted in the limited release stradbrooke selection being produced, this range is the best 3 barrels from the various vintages
Grape Varieties
Riesling, Semillon, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Shiraz, Sangiovese
these grapes respond best to the clare valley climate and soils
what we look for in all our wines are silky dusty tannins and mouth watering acid to help support the fruit expressions of the wines
