Company Information

  • About Us
'wine by brad' is a fresh and funky winemaker from the exciting Margaret River region of Western Australia. We deliver a unique, stylish and value-driven range of wines centred on the dependable grape varieties and wine styles synonymous with the margaret river name. And we have a little fun…!Our packaging is cool, fun and funky, but don’t be fooled by that. Our wines regularly win show medals and receive accolades from the best wine reviewers in the country. We are the result of a couple of influential wine dudes (and shadowy ruffians) deciding there was some fun to be had by putting together some pretty neat parcels of fruit from the region, creating their own label, and releasing it with minimal fuss.brad is our public face. He’s the guy on the label. He’s the guy who makes all the decisions. He embodies the grower, maker and marketer, and he enjoys a drop too. There’s a little bit of brad inhabiting all of us to some degree. Some say he is a mythical figure but we know better! He is the guy we have chosen to represent every aspect of our wine. This wine is brad.Following the success of the 'wine by brad' label, we developed a new super-premium brand to complement the existing business.Sourcing fruit from Margaret River growers and single vineyard estates Mantra employs careful and considered winemaking to create selected wine styles befitting the Margaret River name and the stylish packaging.
  • Our Area
Margaret River has long been recognised as a pretty snazzy place to grow grapes in.Since its beginnings in the late 1960’s the Margaret River region has leapt and bounded over the many bastions of an industry steeped in tradition.Roughly, the region encompasses an area at the South Western tip of Australia, from Cape Naturaliste and Vasse in the north, to Cape Leeuwin and Augusta in the south. With the rapid growth of Australia’s wine industry in the 1990’s Margaret River has maintained its level of status in the wine community as a respected, consistent premium producer. With its natural beauty, rare forests, caves, secluded beaches and temperate climate, Margaret River is also a hot destination for travellers and tourists from all over the globe.Esteemed producers such as Leeuwin Estate, Cullen, Mosswood, Cape Mentelle and Vasse Felix are found here. Pretty soon you can add 'wine by brad' to this list. OK, so we’ve got a way to go.

  • Roll On Summer!

    Posted December 16, 2011

Hello Monkeys!   It's that time of year again where we sit back with a cooling glass of SSB and ponder the highlights of another year in WBB-land.   Vintage 2011 was a beauty here in the West and we're pretty pleased with the results in the bottle. We made a crate-load of SSB this year...

  • Waving goodbye to 2010!

    Posted February 5, 2011

Hey Monkeys, we trust you all had a pretty terrific Xmas and New Year break! The weather has been extremely kind over the summer so far and we look like heading for another super vintage in 2011. I know we're a little late for wrapping up the booze news for the past year (it's Feb already!), but w...

  • Grow a Mo - win a case of wine. Easy!

    Posted November 16, 2010

Hey cheeky monkeys! It's that time of year when perfectly normal people start to grow fuzz on their upper lips. They may do it for charity (men's health), they may do it for fun, they may do it because there's no other opportunity during the year to get all '70's and give their partner grief ;-) W...

  • A New Year Begins... Jan 2010

    Posted January 2, 2010

Hey Monkeys, we hope the festive season has been happy, indulgent and fun-filled for you guys! Was santa kind? We've tried our best to shut down the WBB office and soak up some summer weather, and I think by-and-large we've been successful. Plenty of great weather here in Margs, plenty of super foo...

  • Recent Good Stuff July 2009

    Posted July 19, 2009

Hey Groovers, we've had a cracker 12 months for reviews and awards at WBB and I thought it best we jot them down here so all you Booze Monkeys were kept up to date. For a small, funky wine producer from Margaret River knocking out wines for $18/bottle we certainly get a few nice gongs...

in the topic Where does the name for your wine come from? in the forum Wine Chat

Simple really. My name is Brad. I make wine.

'wine by brad' was a working title until something better came along but nothing ever did. It fitted with the simple, irreverent, fun, retro label, not to mention the pop-art connection.

    So, it stuck!
