    Posted February 9, 2011

Howard Anderson started in the wine industry fresh out of high school, as a trainee winemaker for a family winery in Griffith in 1964. He then got a job as winemaker with Seppelt at their Griffith winery, and was transferred to their Great Western winery in 1971. It was here that his long history ...

    Posted September 26, 2010

If there was a trophy for the 'Most Successful Rutherglen Winery in Table wine classes' at the Rutherglen Wine Show, Anderson Winery would have romped it in this year. They topped (or equal topped) 6 classes, and came second to 5 trophies. For table wines Anderson won 3 Gold medals, 3 Silver medal...

  • Who needs flowers when you've got buds like these?!

    Posted September 15, 2010

In late August / early September, fields around Rutherglen burst into vibrant yellow - the canola crop's happy declaration to the coming of Spring. The days start to lengthen - it's not dark anymore when we get home from work!  The birds start singing. The wattles flower. It's spring!...

  • Introducing the Anderson "Verrier" range - The story

    Posted June 5, 2010

The story starts in France before the 1789 revolution. Dr Verrier and his wife were well-off, and anticipating trouble ahead, they fled to Dover, England. This meant abandoning their son's education, and due to their reduced finances in England, instead of becoming a doctor like his father, he ended...

Just letting everyone know that there is a great couple of weekends coming up in Rutherglen, with the Tastes of Rutherglen festival.  It is March 7&8 and 14&15.

Rutherglen has not been affected by the Victorian bushfires, so it is all going ahead as usual, and should be two fantastic weekends.

Tastes of Rutherglen returns afresh in 2009 with local wineries, chefs and producers joining forces to host regional Victoria’s ultimate gourmet party!

Visit our friendly cellar doors over these two gourmet weekends where you'll  meet the Winemakers behind Rutherglen's world-class wines and discover the passion of North East Victoria’s regional producers.

All 20 Rutherglen wineries will be celebrating the harvest, so you can expect days filled with music & laughter, food, wine, and fun at this authentic and indulgent weekend experience.
