About Us
We are a premium dry red and dry white wine producer. Our philosophy is to produce wines which accompany many types of food, and particularly with our red wines we achieve this through maturation and bottle age. The Mount Hurtle Winery in Woodcroft is the home of Geoff Merrill Wines. Mt Hurtle was built in 1897 as a winery by Welshman Mostyn Owen. Geoff Merrill purchased the Mt Hurtle Winery in 1985 and Geoff owns the company and property 100%.
Our Area
We source most of our fruit from McLaren Vale, with a high proportion coming off own vineyards. We also own a part share in some vineyards is the Coonawarra region where we source Cabernet and Chardonnay.

Awards
Most notably, the Jimmy Watson Trophy in 2005 and the outright winner of the Great Australian Shiraz Challenge in 2006.
