in the topic Selling wine in a recession in the forum The Grapevine

Yes we have sent record numbers of case's of wine to the USA and all over the world . Although it would depend because I also think that we have had a lot more tourist here in NZ . I think that these people have booked and saved for their holidays well before the ' Global economic melt down' and once booked and paid for why bail out? I also think that when people are down and out that wine , like any booze/chocolate  has a comforting effect . However the industry is seasonal and the summer months are the one . We will see how this 'global recession' affect's us in the winter months.  I do think the Media has a part to play as everything with them is doom & gloom which does not help . I say Party On!!
