Appearance
Deep ruby colour and very clear. Looked heavy against the side of the glass - no streaks.
Nose/Aroma
Understated aromas. Some hay, some olive which isn't fully black. Complex with a late hint of over-ripe plums or very over-ripe cherries.
Flavour
Smooth but friendly. Initially promising a major flavour attack, then goes quiet, and finally comes out smooth and mature berries. Trace of smooth tannins, but not clean your teeth. Very harmonious as the wine maker claimed!
Overall Judgement
This wine is "sit back and savour". There is no rush. I could drink this with cheese, avocado and bread plate, or a fine risotto. Brings in a kind of meditative mood. Second thoughts, it's even better than my first thoughts.

Buy a dozen. I got it because a dozen I mix-ordered had some out of stock. This was a substitute and it exceeded what wasn't available.
