Beautiful, deep, dark garnet / cherry colour
Nose/Aroma
Rich, spicy dark fruit, plums, christmas cake, pencil shavings? & white pepper, toast and coconut elements.
Flavour
A full bodied, grab your attention Shiraz. Rich and opulent, dark fruits / cherries / plums and an nutty (almost flor sherry character) dominate the primary fruit in a very well constructed way. The barrel fermentation and extended oak maturation in 100% new American oak builds a very complimentary set of secondary characters, with toast and coconut coming to the fore.

Final Word
Well balanced, great intensity & length, very good complexity. Will benefit from decanting. Dowie Doole is a premium producer that somehow manages to just skirt under the radar - good work...it keeps gems like this available for the rest of us.
